Odio REFERENCES City Manager ENCLOSURES. 1 J;4 i92 FILE Resolution Funding the Guardian Ad Litem Program It is respectfully recommended that a Resolution funding the Guardian Ad Litem Program, and allocating funds therefor from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, in an amount not to exceed $4,900, be approved. The Police Department supports the efforts of those groups committed to the protection of the children in our society. Many children find that they are first abused or neglected by parents and then are abused by an overcrowded, underfunded social service system. The Guardian Ad Litem Program offers a ray of hope to these children through volunteers who represent them in the courts, with H.R.S. and other social service agencies. This funding would be used for the training of these volunteers so that they may represent these children competently. It is, therefore, recommended that the Resolution authorizing the funding of the Guardian Ad Litem Program, and allocating funds therefor in the amount of $4,900, funding to be provided from the Law Enforcement Trust. Fund, Project No. 690001, Index Code 029002-247, be approved. 92- 435 i AFFIDAVIT STATE OF FLORIDA: : SS COUNTY OF DADE Before me this day personally appeared Calvin Ross, who being duly sworn, deposes and says that: I, Calvin Ross, Chief of Police, City of Miami, do hereby certify that this request for expenditure from the City of Miami Law Enforcement Trust Fund, for the funding of the Guardian Ad Litem Program, in an amount not to exceed S4.90Q, complies with the provisions of Section 932.704, Florida Stat_4ies—:--s, C in Ross ief of Police City of Miami Police Department Subscribed and sworn to before me this % day of 1992, by Calvin Ross, who is personall known to me. c NOTARY PUBLIC, STATE OF FLORIDA AT LARGE COMM.
