Home My WebLink AboutR-92-0318J-92-320 - 5/14/92 92- 318 _ RESOLUTION NO. r r A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF SERVICE STATION AID, INC., ("SERVICE"), IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $84,521.810 TOTAL BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR ABOVE -GROUND TANK INSTALLATIONS B-8879-X, ALLOCATING MONIES THEREFOR FROM THE FISCAL YEAR 1991-92 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. 10938, PROJECT NO. 311009, IN THE AMOUNT OF _ $84,521.81 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST AND $15,488.80 TO COVER THE ESTIMATED EXPENSES, FOR AN ESTIMATED TOTAL COST OF $100,010.41; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received April 7, 1992, for ABOVE- GROUND TANK INSTALLATIONS B-5579-X; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid from Service Station Aid, Inc. be accepted beoause the primary office of Servioe is located in the City of Miami and its bid is not more than ten percent (10%)in exoess of the lowest other responsible bidder; and -- WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1991-92 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10938, as amended, was adopted on December S, 1991, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals under Project No. 311009 of said Ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The April 7, 1992 bid of Service Station Aid, Inc., in the proposed amount of $84,521.81, for the project entitled ABOVE -GROUND TANK INSTALLATIONS B-5579-X for the total bid of the proposal, based on lump sum prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 3. The total estimated project cost of $100,010.41 is hereby allocated from the Fiscal Year 1991-92 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10938, Project No. 311009. Said total project cost consists of the $84,521.81 contract cost and $15,488.60 estimated expenses incurred by the City. Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized -I' to enter into a oontraot on behalf of the City of Miami with Service Station Aid, Inc., for ABOVE -GROUND TANK INSTALLATIONS 8-8879-X, total bid of the proposal. Section S. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. -2- 92-- 318 PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of 1992. Od i o REFERENCES City Manager ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution accepting the low bid of Slater Corporation, a company not located within Dade County and not within the City of - Miami, for the ABOVE -GROUND TANK INSTALLATIONS B-5579-X, received April 7. 1992 in the amount of $77,589.00, Total Bid; authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract on behalf of the City. _ NOTE: The bid of Service Station Aid, Inc. located within the City of Miami in the amount of $84,b21.81 is within ten (10) percent of the lowest bid received. Within the PROPOSAL, there is a "NOTE TO BIDDERS" that the City of Miami may =_ award this contract to such a bidder whose primary office is located within the City of Miami as set forth in the City Charter Section 29-A(b). Slater Corporation's (the lowest bidder) primary office is located outside the City of Miami.
