HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-92-0236J-92-272 04/2/92 RESOLUTION NO. 9 2 236 A RESOLUTION CLASSIFYING UP TO SEVEN (7) SURPLUS POLICE PATROL SPECIFICATION CARS AND/OR MOTORBIKES AS CATEGORY "A" STOCK, SHOULD SUCH CARS AND/OR MOTORBIKES BECOME AVAILABLE AS SURPLUS CITY STOCK; FURTHER DONATING THE SAME TO THE CITY OF WEST MIAMI, FLORIDA, SUCH CLASSIFICATION AND DONATION TO BE VALID AND EFFECTIVE BETWEEN MAY 9, 1992 AND MAY 8, 1993, UPON THE EXECUTION OF THE APPROPRIATE RELEASE DOCUMENTS, SAID VEHICLES TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF WEST MIAMI, FLORIDA, IN ITS EFFORTS TOWARD DETERRING CRIME. —ii i WHEREAS, the possibility exists between May 9, 1992 and May 8, 1993, that the City of Miami Administration may classify as surplus some City cars and/or motorbikes with police patrol specifications; and WHEREAS, the City of West Miami, Florida, has been and still is in need of up to seven (7) police patrol specification cars and/or motorbikes to be used in its efforts toward deterring crime; and WHEREAS, this need when communicated to the Miami City Commission on May 9, 1991, led to adoption of Resolution No. 91-348, which would have resulted in a donation of such vehicles had they been available by April 15, 1992, the time limitation for such donation as expressed in said Resolution; and CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF APR 0 2 199? A"OlWtim No. 92- 236 WHEREAS, it being just as appropriate and important now as it was last year to combat crime in Greater Miami, it is the intention of the City Commission that, if within the period of May 9, 1992 and May 8, 1993, up to seven (7) police patrol specification oars and/or motorbikes are declared surplus, said ears and/or motorbikes be classified Category "A" Surplus Stock and, if available, be donated to the City of West Miami, Florida; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Within the period of May 9, 1992 and May 8, 1993, up to seven (7) surplus police patrol specification oars and/or motorbikes as Category "A" Surplus Stock, if such oars and/or motorbikes become eligible for said classification and are available during said time period; further, such cars and/or motorbikes are hereby donated to the City of West Miami, Florida, upon execution of the appropriate release documents, said cars to be used in the City of West Miami's efforts toward deterring crime.
