RE: City of Miami Scholarships
Dear Cesar:
On behalf of the University of Miami I am pleased to
submit to you for submission to the Commission the names and
background information on all of the applicants from the City of
Miami who have been admitted to the University of Miami, have shown
some need for financial aid under the rules of federal regulation
and who are residents of the City of Miami, therefore qualifying
all of these persons for the City of Miami Scholarships.
As we discussed during my appearance before the City
Commission on this subject recently, all of these students having
qualified, they are all eligible for selection by the Commission.
The City may select all, some or none of the qualified persons. I
would request that this material be presented. to the City
Commission during the month of February for their selection so that
the University might extend these scholarships to these students in
early March.
All of these students are outstanding members of the City
of Miami community and the University of Miami would be pleased if
any or all of them were to enroll as students.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this matter
with me, or would like a representative of the University to appear
at the Commission meeting where this is considered, we would be
pleased to do so. If you believe it is appropriate that members of
