A RESOLUTION APPOINTING TWO MEMBERS TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF MIAMI FIRE FIGHTERS' AND POLICE OFFICERS' RETIREMENT TRUST AS PROVIDED FOR BY CITY OF MIAMI ORDINANCE NO. 10002, SECTIONS 40-201 AND 40- 202, FOR SPECIFIED TERMS OF OFFICE EXPIRING SEPTEMBER 30, 1993. WHEREAS, two appointments need to be made to the City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees, for the terms of office specified herein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following individuals are hereby appointed as members of the City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees to serve terms of office expiring September 30, 1993: NAME: Jesse Diner Marshall Barry Section 3. ODIO City Manager Enclosed herein please find a copy of R-92-114 which was passed and adopted by the City of Miami Commission at its meeting held on February 13, 1992, reappointing you to serve on the Board of Trustees of the City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Retirement Trust. Pursuant to Article II, Section 8 of the Florida Constitution and/or Dade County Ordinance No. 77-13, and the Financial Disclosure law, Chapter 112.3145, Florida Statutes, as a member of the Trust, you will be required to file a Statement of Financial Interests form with the Dade County Supervisor, Elections Department. 'Their address is: Metro Dade Center, 111 N.W. 1st Street, Suite 1910, Miami, Florida 33128-1993 (Tel: 375- 5553). Sections 2-305 through 306 of the City of Miami Code require all elective and appointive officers or employees of the City to submit to the City Clerk a Statement of Real Property Owned by him/her, whether the title be either legal or equitable, whether owned in whole or in part, as well as a Statement of Corporate Real Property in which he/she has a controlling interest, or is an officer. Enclosed herein please find a copy of said forms to fill out. Kindly complete and return them to us at your earliest convenience. Also enclosed is a copy of a memorandum from A. Quinn Jones, III, City Attorney, dated October 22, 1991, outlining some guidelines to assist members of City Boards and Committees in complying with the Government in the Sunshine Law. Odio, City Manager ENCLOSURES: February 13, 1992 It is recommended that the City reappointing two members to the Police Officers' Retirement Trust. Commission approve the attached City of Miami Fire Fighters' and City of Miami Code sections 40-201 and 40-202, (Ordinance #10002), provide for the appointment of a nine member board of trustees to administer and manage the retirement plan known as the "City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Retirement Trust." Of these nine members, one is to be selected by the City Manager, two by the Fire Fighters' (IAFF bargaining unit) and two by the Police Officers' (FOP bargaining unit). Four independent trustees are to be selected by the City Commission. Of the present appointments, two are expiring: (1) The appointment of Jesse Diner was made by the City Commission from a list of independent board member candidates submitted by the Fraternal Order of Police. It is the FOP's recommendation that Jesse Diner be reappointed for a term of office which would begin on October 1, 1991, and would expire on September 30, 1993.
