Home My WebLink AboutR-92-0069d J-92-123 1/30/92 RESOLUTION NO. 9 v )u A RESOLUTION RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S FINDING THAT THE CLEARING OF LOTS IN THE PROPOSED WYNWOOD FREE TRADE ZONE WAS A VALID PUBLIC EMERGENCY; AND RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S ACTION IN AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR SUCH SERVICE TO SHARK WRECKING CO., IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,800.00 FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING, BUILDING AND ZONING, WITH FUNDS THEREFOR BEING ALLOCATED FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 450712-340- 799213. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received December 4, 1991 for the clearing of lots in the proposed Wynwood Free Trade Zone for the Planning, Building and Zoning Department; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to sixty-three (63) potential suppliers and nine (9) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this service were available from Community Development Account Code No. 450712-340-799213; and WHEREAS, the procurement of said services was deemed an emergency as the subject lots have been a constant source of complaints from the neighbors in the area since the lots were full of debris and were a haven for vagrants and undesirables; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED B7.7 THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY COT.-C ISSION MFE'i'uti G OF A"" F E B 13 1992 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager's finding that a valid emergency existed for the clearing of lots in the proposed Wynwood Free Trade Zone at a proposed amount of $9,800.00, for the Planning, Building and Zoning Department is hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. Section 3. The City Manager's action in authorizing the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order for this service is hereby ratified, approved and confirmed, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Community Development, Account Code No. 450712-340-799213. The total cost associated with this purchase is $9,800.00. Funds are available from Community Development, Account No. 450712-340-799213 -1-i. t@i Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received December 4, 1991, for clearing of these lots. The lowest most responsible and responsive bid was that of Shark Wrecking Corp. Nine (9) bids were received and Shark Wrecking Corp. was the lowest most responsible and responsive bidder. This service was deemed an emergency as the subject lots have been a constant source of complaints from the neighbors in the area. These lots are full of junk and are a haven for vagrants and undesirables. This, along with Officers responding to frequent calls, justified the need for its immediate removal.
