HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-92-00380 *1 J-92-72 1/09/92 RESOLUTION NO. 9 2 - 38 A RESOLUTION REJECTING THE FINDINGS OF THE COMPETITIVE SELECTION COMMITTEE AS TO THE MOST QUALIFIED TEAMS IN RANK ORDER, TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE DESIGN, PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION OF AN OLYMPIC POOL COMPLEX FOR CHARLES HADLEY PARK; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPOINT A NEW COMPETITIVE SELECTION COMMITTEE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 18-52.3 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, SUCH COMMITTEE TO HAVE NO FEWER THAN TEN (10) MEMBERS WITH FIVE (5) OR MORE MEMBERS TO BE PROFESSIONALS FROM THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN THE FIELD OF ENDEAVOR OR PRACTICE INVOLVED; AND APPOINTING HERBERT J. BAILEY, ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER, AS CHAIRPERSON FOR SAID COMPETITIVE SELECTION COMMITTEE, AND DIRECTING SAID COMPETITIVE SELECTION COMMITTEE TO REPORT ITS FINDINGS TOGETHER WITH SUPPORTING INFORMATION TO THE CITY MANAGER AND TO FILE A COPY OF ITS FINDINGS WITH THE CITY CLERK. WHEREAS, the Competitive Selection Committee for the Charles Hadley Park Olympic Pool Complex Project, convened on November 21, 1991 to conduct the presentation and interview phase of the Consultant Selection Process; and WHEREAS, the Competitive Selection Committee evaluated the proposals and selected in rank order three teams most qualified to provide the required professional services for this project and reported its findings, together with supporting information to the City Manager; and cffy COJ VVWSION VMTMG OF..� . JAN 9 199Z 92-- 38 010w 1.. _ WHEREAS, the City Commission after careful consideration of the matter finds that the facts presented in support thereof do not justify accepting the rank order submitted by the City Manager; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Commission hereby rejects the findings of the Competitive Selection Committee as to the most qualified teams in rank order, to provide professional services for the design, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration of an Olympic pool complex for Charles Hadley Park. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to appoint a new Competitive Selection Committee in accordance with Section 18-52.3 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended. Section 4. Said Competitive Selection Committee shall have no fewer than ten (10) members with five (5) or more members to be professionals from the private sector in the field of endeavor or practice involved. Section 5. Herbert J. Bailey, Assistant City Manager, is hereby appointed as Chairperson of said Competitive Selection Committee. -2- 9 2 --- 38 Section 6. Said Competitive Selection Committee shall report its findings, together with supporting information to the City Manager and shall file a copy of its findings with the City Clerk. Section 7. This Resolution shall immediately upon its adoption.
