APRIL 1982 was the first fund-raiser to focus on this issue; it was held on the downtown campus of Miami -C?ade Community College in Miami, Florida and becarne the prototype to raise awareness -and millions of support dollars. Fund-raising Events have beer] held in cities across America in the succeeding 10 years with MAJOR impact on feeding and shelter programs, as well as Community and City policy. it is appropriate, indeed, that the 10-year Celebration receive nationwide viewership; an entire country will participate to "Cure the Crisis in our Cities"....for the Christmas Holidays -and beyond!
