It should be noted that this was an agenda item before the City of Miami Commission on December S, 1991 and was approved.. l~leedless to say, eve have held th#s event since 1977 without having to aneet the requirements as previously stated. '~F'e have never had an incident that required police intervention of which Lt. Frank Ciristmas of the City of Miami Police Department can attest, ~i'e have always had the police on duty as required, and have oontirmation from Sergeant Deane, who fis the supervisor of the Liberty Square Detail, to have adequate police on duty on December 25th, should thds request be approved. This organization has never had to come before the commission before in seeking closure of the streets for their annual activity. T am requesting that you schedule a personal appearance at the December 5, 1991 Commission Meeting for Mr. Ferguson to ask us for assistance. To Whom It May Concern: We, the members of the Liberty Square Tenant Council, along with the housing Manager,of liberty Square, Mr. Eugene Smith are in agreement that the liberty Square Park area located at 6206 N.W. 14th Avenue be utilized, for the Christmas Festival sponsored by the Mr. Wonderful Community Club, which is an annual event, Permission is granted annually, Activities are scheduled for December 2b, 1988 be- tween the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. The Mr. Wonderful Community Club will supervise all activities in- cluding the clean-up. This activity is truly one that is needed in this Community Center because previous festivals • were held in the streets as block parties, during this Christmas Celebration for our needy children.
