Dear Mr. Odio:
We respectfully request permission to appear before the City of Miami Commission on March 12,1992.
This request is made in order to request an extension of time on City owned property located at 229
N.W. 30 Street donated to Wynwood Community Economic Development Corp. to develop affordable
housing in the Wynwood neighborhood. See enclosed (resolution No. 90-127 dated 2 07 90).
We are also requesting financial assistance from the City in connection with the acquisition of 37 low
income rental units in the Community of Wynwood. These units are currently rented and operating
successfully, however, the owner of the property is in trouble with the Internal Revenue and is
contemplating abandoning the properties.
We are concerned Mr. Manager, that these properties will then become drug and crack houses if they
are not maintained. We feel it is crucial that we take immediate action to prevent any further decay to
the housing stock of our community.
