THIS AFTERNOON, TO AMEND ARTICLE II,
"BURGLARY AND ROBBERY ALARMS," OF CHAPTER 3.5
ENTITLED "ALARM SYSTEMS" OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY; FURTHER REQUESTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO
INCLUDE AMENDATORY LANGUAGE THAT WOULD
ADDRESS INSTANCES WHERE A USER DOES NOT HAVE

NOTIFICATION TO SAID USER REQUIRING THAT HE

ALARM, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE MIAMI
POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL ONLY RESPOND TO A

AG 44 A MOTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI COMMISSION
STIPULATING ITS INTENT TO JOIN THE PLAINTIFFS
IN THE IMPENDING LAWSUIT SOON TO BE FILED
AGAINST THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT (COCONUT GROVE
HOUSE, INC., ET AL VS. UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES ET
AL) IN CONNECTION WITH THE ALLEGED UNFAIR AND
ILLEGAL DISPOSITION MADE BY THE FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT OF THE NAVAL RESERVE PROPERTY;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO
ALLOCATE AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $10,000 FOR
EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LAWSUIT; AND
FURTHER STIPULATING THAT ANY EXPENSES IN
EXCESS OF $10,000 WILL HAVE TO BE BORNE BY
THE OTHER PLAINTIFFS IN SAID LAWSUIT.

WALK AMERICA TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE MARCH OF
DIMES BIRTH DEFECTS FOUNDATION ON APRIL 4,
1992; APPROVING THE USE OF CERTAIN STREETS
AND THOROUGHFARES IN COCONUT GROVE DURING
WALK AMERICA SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF
PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND
FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES; SUBJECT
TO THE EXERCISE OF COMPLETE CONTROL OVER SUCH
USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE; ESTABLISHING
AN AREA PROHIBITED TO RETAIL PEDDLERS DURING
THE PERIOD OF THE EVENT; AUTHORIZING THE USE
OF AN ON -DUTY RESCUE UNIT DURING SAID EVENT;
CONDITIONING ALL APPROVALS AND AUTHORIZATIONS
HEREIN UPON ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR ALL
NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY SERVICES AND FEES
ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT AND OBTAINING
INSURANCE TO PROTECT THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT
AS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS
DESIGNEE.
