C I ty Manager ENCLOSURES Meeting
Four members of the Morningslde Association Traffic Committee
have requested to appear before the City Commission regarding an
alternate proposal for the implementation of permanent barricades
In the Morningside neighborhood. The present plan and funding
mechanism for the permanent barricades was set forth In
Resolution No. 91-667 which required voluntary contributions In
the amount of $38,600 to be posted with the Public Works
Department to pay for the cost of construction. A fund raising
period of 120 days was also stipulated In the resolution.
This period ends on January 9, 1992.
Since the fund raising committee has been unable to raise the
_ necessary funds, the presentation is expected to focus on an
alternate plan whereby the residents would have an opportunity to
play a greater role in contracting the barricade construction.
The Public Works Department has met with the presenters to
discuss the concept In general and recommends that they be
allowed the opportunity to present their new plan.
