ENCLOSURES : Ordinance
The Department of Public Works recommends adoption of an
ordinance amending Chapter 54 of the Code of the City of Miami
entitled "Streets and Sidewalks" by amending Section 54-17
entitled "Prohibition of Vehicular Access/Pedestrian Access" by
extending the deadline date for the deposit of funds necessary
to pay for the construction of the walls across Natoma Street,
Ta-lu-ga Drive and Alatka Street to January 10, 1993.
BACKGROUND:
On April 11, 1991, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No.
10868 amending City Code Section 54-17 authorizing the
construction of walls across Natoma Street, Ta-lu-ga Drive and
Alatka Street at their Intersection with South Dixie Highway
subject to the condition that construction of the walls shall
not commence until such time as neighbors have placed all funds
necessary to pay for construction of the walls on deposit with
the City. The Commission further established July 4, 1991, as
the deadline date for the deposit of funds.
Sufficient funding was collected by the neighbors to construct
the wails at Natoma Street and Ta-lu-ga Drive and these walls
have been constructed. The neighbors are now requesting that
the deadline date be extended to provide sufficient time to
collect the remaining funds necessary to construct the wall at
Alatka Street.
