The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Marker is hereby authorized to aooept the grant as set forth in the Preamble to this Ordinance and to enter into the neoessary oontract(s) and/or agreement(s), in a form acceptable to the City Attorney,/ for - acceptance of the aforesaid monies f. .e oampensation of personnel r o, - o• F• a Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.. Section 5. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected. 1 Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. 2/ The herein authorization is further subject to cmt including with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, t not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. -2- 10987 Section 6. Odi City Manager DA7L A. - Si1H.If:CT : &• Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 10913 RECENENCES: ENCLOSURM . It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached ordinance, as amended, increasing the appropriations to the Special Revenue Fund entitled! "Geographic Targeting Program" by $65,000, as the result of a successful application for additional grant funds from the U.S. Department of Justice. Ordinance No. 10913, adopted September 11, 1.991, established resources and appropriations for the "Geographic Targeting Program", in the amount of $75,000. As the result of a successful application to the U.S. Department of Justice, there are an additional $65,000 available for depoait into the fund. The request for the appropriation of these monies is required for the Miami Police Department to continue its efforts at combatting narcotics trafficking in those neighborhoods identified as high risk areas. The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, has awarded the City of Miami Police Department this grant of $65,000 as an incentive to target organizations involved in narcotics trafficking based on geographic location.
