AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-422 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, CONCERNING THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE BOARD, BY MODIFYING THE QUORUM REQUIREMENT AND THE NUMBER OF VOTES REQUIRED FOR BOARD ACTION; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the conduct of regular meetings of the International Trade Board it is necessary to modify the quorum requirement for the number of votes required for Board action in order to allow the board to vote on the matters before it and do all things necessary to enhance the Board's ability to promote the City as an international trade center; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 2-422 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is hereby amended in the following particulars:l/ l/ Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures shall; be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged materials. 10939 "Sec. 2-422. Membership. (a) The board shall be advisory and shall consist of twenty-two (22) members and ten (10) alternate members appointed by the city commission with eleven H ) seven (4 members constituting a quorum for the purpose of convening any board meeting. All meetings of the board shall be open to the public. An affirmative vote of six (6) four (4� members is required for any board action to be taken. Alternate members shall attend all board meetings and upon being so designated by the chairperson shall serve as a regular member during any meeting in which a regular member is absent. * if Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph clause, phrase, or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected. Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after final reading and adoption thereof.
