And this problem is due to the long waiting lists and lack of shelters within the community to assist these women in dealing with these disturbing issues. Thank you. Clark City of Miami Mayor 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, Florida 33133 Mr. Clark, I am very pleased to be a part of the Joint Venture with Sage Psychological and Family Services Inc. I have been informed that domestic crimes are rated highest in Dade County and have become a national problem. Due to the fact, I paid close attention to a speech you gave in reference to this problem and I agree with you that something major needs to be done in order to reduce the statistics which we are encountering. It would be of my utmost interest to help our community with domestic violence, especially battered women. I have dealt in the past with battered women and children in the low income and public assistance level and would gladly render services if the City of Miami would grant a shelter for them. this kind of service is in dire need and my help would alleviate the pressure set in the hospitals for the patients and personnel. Please take a moment of your busy schedule and review the problems we're facing. This will be greatly appreciated by our Dade County citizens.
