A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 300
1994 CHEVROLET CAPRICE PURSUIT VEHICLES UNDER
EXISTING DADE COUNTY BID NO. 3407-OEC-CW FROM
ED MORSE CHEVROLET AT A PROPOSED AMOUNT OF
$3,844,311.00, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL
SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AND SOLID WASTE WITH
THE CONDITION THAT THE COST FOR LIGHT BARS
WILL NOT EXCEED $400,000.00; SAID VEHICLES TO
BE ACQUIRED THROUGH A 36-MONTH LEASE PURCHASE
PLAN OFFERED BY A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION;
ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE DEPARTMENT
OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AND SOLID
WASTE OPERATING BUDGET, ACCOUNT CODE NO.
420901-880; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO
ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THESE VEHICLES.
WHEREAS, the General Services Administration and Solid Waste
Department need to purchase 300 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Pursuit
Vehicles at a proposed total cost of $3,844,311.00, available
under existing Dade County Bid No. 3407-OEC-CW from Ed Morse
Chevrolet; and
WHEREAS, these vehicles shall satisfy the new take home
requirements; and
WHEREAS, said vehicles will be acquired through a 36-month
lease purchase plan offered by a financial institution, with
funds for the lease purchase plan to be available from the
Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste
Operating Budget, Account Code No. 420901-880; and

WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Assistant City Manager in
charge of the Department of General Services and Solid Waste
recommend the purchase from Ed Morse Chevrolet under existing
Dade County Bid No. 3407-OEC-CW, for a total proposed amount of
$3,844,311.00 be authorized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The purchase of 300 1994 Chevrolet Caprice
Pursuit Vehicles under existing Dade County Bid No. 3407-OEC-CW
from Ed Morse Chevrolet at a proposed amount of $3,844,311.00 for
the Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste
with the condition that the cost for light bars will not exceed
$400,000.00, is hereby authorized, said vehicles to be acquired
through a 36-month lease purchase plan offered by a financial
institution, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the
Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste
Operating Budget, Account Code No. 420901-880.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order
for this acquisition.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission pass the
attached resolution, authorizing the purchase of 300 1994
Chevrolet Caprice Pursuit Vehicles from Ed Morse Chevrolet a non-
minority/non-local vendor, located at 6640 N. State Road 7,
Lauderhill, Florida under a Dade -County Bid No. 3407-OEC-CW at a
total proposed amount of $3,844,311.00.
The Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste
needs to purchase 300 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Pursuit vehicles.
These vehicles shall satisfy the new take home requirements.
These vehicles will be acquired through a 36-month lease purchase
plan offered by a financial institution, with funds for the lease
purchase plan to be available from the Department of General
Services Administration and Solid Waste Operating budget, Account
Code No. 420901-880.
It is recommended that the purchase from Ed Morse Chevrolet,
Lauderhill, Florida under a Dade -County Bid No. 3407-OEC-CW at a
total proposed amount of $3,844,311.00, be approved.

and Budget that funds are available to cover the cost of the
purchase of 300 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Pursuit Vehicles through

$3,844,311.00. Funds are available from the FY'93-94 Fleet
Management Division Account Code No. 420901-880, Project No.
509000.
