The Department of Community Development has previously recommended
funding for the thirteen (13) Economic Development CBOs for a six
(6) month period from July 1 through December 31, 1993, in order to
allow Tonya, Inc., the Department of HUD's consultan~k, an
opportunity to evaluate and determine the eligibility of CBOs' CDBG
funded activities. This time frame would also afford Tonya,_ Inc.
ample time to train CBOs and the City enough time to properly
monitor each organization.
