RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT A GRANT, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$189,000, FROM THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FEDERAL
AVIATION ADMINISTRATION ENTITLEMENT TRUST
FUND, FISCAL YEAR 1990, FOR CITY USE
EXCLUSIVELY IN CONNECTION WITH THE WATSON
ISLAND AVIATION FACILITIES PLANNING
PROGRAM; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE
CITY ATTORNEY, TO ACCEPT AND IMPLEMENT
SAID GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is allocated approximately
$300,000 in entitlement trust funds each year for use in airport
improvement projects through the the United States Department of
Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration ("F.A.A."), for
the Watson Island Aviation Facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 90-283
which designated the proposed development of an air
transportation service facility at Watson Island as a Category
"B" Project, and authorized the acquisition of professional
planning and design services in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, pursuant to Resolution
No. 92-633, approved the recommendation of the selection
committee of the three most qualified firms to provide these
services and authorized the City Manager to commence negotiations
with the prime consultant; and ----- --

WHEREAS, the FAA has issued a tentative allocation of grant
to the City of Miami for use in the planning and design of
aviation facilities at Watson Island;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
accept a Grant, in the amount of $189,000, from the United States
Department of Transportation, Federal. Aviation Administration
Entitlement Trust Funds, Fiscal Year 1990, for City use
exclusively in connection with the Watson Island Aviation
Facilities Planning Program.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized`/ to
execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City
Attorney, to accept and implement said Grant.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
The herein authorization is further subject to compliance
with all requirements that may be imposed by the City
Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by
applicable City Charter and Code provisions.
