It is respectfully recommended that a Resolution, authorizing the
supplemental funding of the Alternatives Program, and allocating
funds therefor, in the amount of $45,000, be approved.
ACKQROUHD-:.
The Police Department supports the efforts of those groups
responsible for, and dedicated to, the education of the public in
the area of drug abuse. The Alternatives Program targets those
high risk high school students and chemically dependent people in
need of support and counselling. Clients are referred to the
program by both the courts and law enforcement agencies. This
will be fourth year funding for this organization.
It is, therefore, recommended that the Resolution, authorizing
the supplemental funding of the Alternatives Program, and
allocating funding therefor, in the amount of $45,000, funding to
be provided from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No.
690001, Index Code 029002-247, be approved.
