A RESOLUTION APPOINTING CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE AS MEMBERS AND ALTERNATE MEMBERS ON THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE BOARD FOR TERMS OF OFFICE TO BEGIN JULY 1, 1993 AND TO EXPIRE JUNE 30, 1994. WHEREAS, on May 12, 1988, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10437, establishing a seventeen member International. Trade Board; and WHEREAS, in May, 1988, the City Commission designated Mr. Herbert J. Bailey to serve as the City Administration representative and fifteen individuals to serve as members for terms of office expiring June 30, 1990; and WHEREAS, on July_ 13, 1989, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10609 amending Section 2-422 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, concerning the International Trade Board to provide for five alternate members with terms of office expiring June 30, 1990; and WHEREAS, on February 14, 1991, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10843, which increased the number of members and alternate members of the International Trade Board; and WHEREAS, it is now appropriate to appoint and/or reappoint certain individuals to serve as Chairperson, members, and Cfil'Y cormmssloN KEE'Y' G OF S E P 0 7 "1993 Resolution No. alternate members of the International Trade Board for terms of office expiring June 30, 1994; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. BACKGROUND In May 1988, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10437 which established a seventeen member International Trade Board (ITB). The Commission additionally designated Herbert J. Bailey as City Administration representative and appointed fifteen individuals to serve as members for terms of office jxpiring June 30, 1990. In July 1989, the City Commission, through Ordinance No. 10609, amended Section 2-422 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, and provided for five alternate members to the ITB, with terms expiring June 30, 1990. In February 1991, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10843, which increased the number of members and alternate members to the ITB.
