A RES01JMON CLASSIFYING 300 FIREFIGHTING BUNKER GEAR
SETS ("SETS") AS CATEGORY "A" SURPLUS S= AND
DONATING SAME, AFTER THE EXEvUTION OF THE APPROPRIATE
RELEASE DOCUMENTS, IF NECESSARY, TO THE CITIES OF:
GALVEZ, ARGENTINA, LAS PALMAS, CANARY ISLANDS, CALI,
COLOMBIA, SAN JOSE, COSTA PICA, SANTO DOMZNGO,
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, MANAGUA, NICARA,GUA, PANAMA CITY,
PANAMA, AND PORT -AU --PRINCE, REPUBLIC OF HAITI, SUCH
DONATIONS TO BE VALID AND EFFECTIVE BETWEEN
SEPTEMBER £i, 1993 TO SEPTEKBER 7, 1994; SAID B�UIPMENT
TO BE USED BY THE AFOREMENTIONED CITIES IN THEIR
FIREFIGHTING EFFORTS, WITH ALL REPAIR, TRANSPORTATION,
PAa�M AND SHIPPING COSTS TO BE BORNE BY SAID CITIES.
WHEREAS, the cities of Galvez , Argentina, Las Palm s , Canax y Islands,
Cali, Colombia, San Jose, Costa Rica, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic,
Managua, Nicaragua, Panama City, Panama, and Port-au-Prince, Republic of Haiti
need assistance in their firefighting efforts; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami periodically receives requests for said
assistance; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami. has 300 sets of surplus firefighting bunker
gear to donate; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Commission that the sets be
donated to the aforementioned cities with all repair, transportation, packing
and shipping costs to be borne by said cities;
NOW, THEUIORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CObMSSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this
Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as
if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Three hundred (300) surplus firefighting bunker gear sets
("Sets") are hereby classified. as Category "A" Surplus Stock.
Section 3. Within the period of September 8, 1993 to September 7, 1994,
said Category "A" Surplus Stock will be made available for donation to the
cities as listed below, after the execution of the appropriate release
documents, if necessary, with a_l repair, transportation, packing and shipping
costs to be borne by said. cities:

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt a
Resolution authorizing the classification of three hundred (300)
sets of surplus firefighting bunker gear as category "A" surplus
stock, further stipulating that, said gear shall be donated to
the cities of Managua, Nicaragua; Port Au Prince, Haiti; Santo
Domingo, Dominican Republic; Cali, Colombia; Galvez, Argentina;
Las Palmas, Canary Island, and Comodoro, Argentina; and the
remaining equipment be set -aside for donation as requests are
received.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Miami periodically receives requests for donations
from different cities in other countries who need assistance in
their firefighting efforts. Since the City of Miami presently
has three hundred,(300) sets of surplus firefighting bunker gear,
it is the City s intention to make these available to the
aforementioned cities.

Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Miami City Clerk
at her office located at 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida
33133 not later than 10:30 a.m. February 24, 1993 the furnishing
of Events Maintenance services on a contract basis for one (1)
year renewable annually at the Coconut Grove Convention Center,
Bobby Maduro Stadium and Marine Stadium for the Department of
Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities.
Proposals submitted past such deadline and/or submitted to any
other location or office shall be deemed not responsive and will
be rejected.
MANDATORY SITE VISIT IS SCHEDULED FOR 10:00 AM FEBRUARY 10, 1993
AT THE COCONUT GROVE CONVENTION CENTER (executive offices) 2700 S
BAYSHORE DRIVE, COCONUT GROVE.
FAILURE TO ATTEND WILL DEEM YOUR BID NON -RESPONSIVE.
Ordinance No. 10062 established a goal of Awarding 51% of the
City's total dollar volume of all expenditures for All Goods and
Services to Black, Hispanic and Women Minority Business
Enterprises on an equal basis.
Minority and women vendors who are interested in submitting
proposalss and who are not registered with the City as minority
or women vendors are advised to contact the City of Miami
Minority/Women Business Office, 1390 N.W. 20th Street, Telephone
575-5174.
Local preference may be applied to those vendors whose primary
office is located in the City of Miami, provided the amount of
the proposal or proposals is not more than ten percent (10%) in
excess of the lowest other responsible proposals or proposals.
Detailed specifications for the proposals, are available upon
request at the City Procurement Office, 1390 N.W. 20th Street,
Second Floor, Telephone 575-5174.
The City Manager may reject all proposals and readvertise.
