WHEREAS, the Miami Zoning Board at its meeting of June 21,
1993, Item No. 2, duly adopted Resolution ZB 68-93 by a six to
three (6-3) vote, RECOMMENDING official vacation and closure of
portions of streets as herein set forth; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is in the best
interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its
inhabitants to grant the vacation and closure of those portions
of streets in question and deems it advisable to do so;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. That portion of Northwest 15th Avenue from
Northwest 6th Street to Northwest 7th Street, and that portion of
Northwest 6th Street, from 100 feet east of the east right-of-way
line of Northwest 16th Avenue extended to the west right-of-way
line of Northwest 14 Avenue extended are hereby closed, vacated,
abandoned and discontinued for public use, as provided in Miami
City Code Section 54.5-16 and as a condition of approval of
Tentative Plat No. 1435, "New Orange Bowl Subdivision", subject
to the requirements of the Plat and Street Committee for the
property located at Northwesti 15th Avenue and Northwest 6th
Street, also described as that:'portion of Northwest 15th Avenue
lying between a line 35 feet south of and parallel with the north
line of Section 2, Township 54 South, Range 41 East (said north

line being the centerline of Northwest 7th Street) and a line 50
feet south of and parallel with the south right-of-way line of
Northwest 6th Street extended, as shown on the plat of "Lawrence
Estate Land Co's. Subdivision in Section 2, Township 54 South,
Range 41 East", as recorded in Plat Book 2 at Page 46, of the
Public Records of Dade County, Florida; and all of that portion
of Northwest 6th Street lying b6tween the west right-of-way line
of Northwest 14th Avenue extended and the southerly prolongation
of the east line of Lot 12, Block 34, as shown on the plat of
"Lawrence Estate Land Co's. Subdivision in Section 2, Township 54
South, Range 41 East", as recorded in Plat Book 2 at Page 46, of
the Public Records of Dade County, Florida, said closures,
vacations, abandonments and discontinuances all being a condition
for the approval of Tentative Plat No. 1435 "NEW ORANGE BOWL
SUBDIVISION".
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

HISTORY The petition to vacate and close the above referenced rights -of -way is being proposed by the
City of Miami in order to consolidate the City -owned property adjacent to the Orange Bowl for
the purpose of reconfiguring the parking areas and providing numerous new handicapped parking
spaces in compliance with current ADA requirements.
ANALYSIS The Plat and Street Committee has reviewed this Tentative Plat #1435, has determined that it
meets the technical requirements contained in the City Code, and recommends approval of the
requested vacation and closure of the above referenced rights -of -way. The public will not be
inconvenienced by this street closure.

In addition to the above requirements, you should awa_cef of
the following:
1. State and local laws require the Installation $f varIpus
phy*s1cal Improvements In the public rights-ofsway when
property Is platted. These subdivision Improvements
Include paving, drainage, landscaping, sidewalks, etc. In
some cases this could represent a substantial Investment
on your part.
2. The alteration, relocation or installation of utilities
such as storm and sanitary sewers, electric, telephone,
water, etc., caused by this plat will be at the property
owner's expense. Also, utility easements may be required
on the property being platted.
3. A building permit will not be Issued on the property being
platted until the final plat is recorded. Also, the
Certificate of Occupancy for any building construction will

4. Approval for fire flow requirements must Oe obtained from
the Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services Department prior
