FLO° DA INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM TO Honorable Mayor and DATE June 16 , 1993 FILE Members of the City Commission SUBJECT Agenda Item FROM. Cesar 10 REFERENCES Cit der ;:4 ENCLOSURES Recommendation: It is respectfully recommended that the attached resolution be adopted authorizing the City Manager to sign a contract for three years for citywide banking services with First Union National Bank of Florida in a form acceptable to the City Attorney and extending the current contract with First Union National Bank of Florida for such time as is necessary for a transition of services. Background: In accordance with the procedures outlined in the banking services request for proposals approved by resolution 93-90 and the list of qualified banks approved in resolution 93-280, the qualified banks were requested to submit sealed bids for their services. The total cost of services, based on the estimati-d volumes provided by the City, bid by each bank was as follows: TOTAL FLANK COST First Union $ 92,485 Barnett $132,448 SunBank $163,349 Therefore it is recommended that First Union National Bank of Florida be awarded the contract as the overall lowest cost bidder. S. Additionally the current contract with First Union expires on June 30, 1993. It is anticipated that it will take several months to completely transition all services to the new bank due to administrative signature requirements, equipment and software changes, and familiarization of procedural changes. Therefore it is necessary to authorize an extension of the current contract to insure a smooth transition without interruption of services. /mc 9 3- 4 5 .;&BCURITY LIST BID ITEXt BANK SERVIrFa----,,, ----------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- S I D It O. s 9 2 `9 3_QA1-----------------------------------------___ DATE BID(S) OPENED --------------------------- r► tr TOTAL DID ZOWD_jgj ]BIDDER DID ANOVPT CASHIBR_S_CHECR_—_ FINANCE DEPARTMEN_TOn (City Department) SIGNED:_ ___ ________________ eputy City Clerk) e R E CE'. i V E D '93 MAY 21 P3:00 VAI MAT!` I'll CITY CLERK CITY OF MIAMI, FLA. m 1, CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM TO : DATE Matty Hirai May 13, 1993 FILE: City Clerk SUBJECT Receipt Of, Bids 1 / C FROM : Gary M.
