J-93-493 G/22/93 RESOLUTION NO.9 3 - 4 31 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF BENSON ELECTRIC, INC., IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $12,700.00, TOTAL BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR DORSEY PARK REHABILITATION - SPORT LIGHTING - PHASE I, (SECOND BIDDING) B-6201- C; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE FISCAL YEAR 1991-92 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. 10938, PROJECT NO. 331357, IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,700.00, TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST AND $2,550.00 TO COVER THE ESTIMATED EXPENSES, FOR AN ESTIMATED TOTAL COST OF $15,250.00; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM. It WHEREAS, sealed bids were received June 18, 1993, for DORSEY PARK REHABILITATION - SPORT LIGHTING - PHASE I, (SECOND BIDDING) B-6201-C; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid from BENSON ELECTRIC, INC., be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1991-92 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10938, as amended, was adopted on January 23, 1992, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals under Project No. 331357 of said Ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE I`1' RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY COMMISSIOjff MEETIYdG OF J if L 0 8 1993 Resolution No, 93- 431 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The June 18, 1993 bid of BENSON ELECTRIC, INC., in the proposed amount $12,700.00, for the project entitled DORSEY PARK REHABILITATION - SPORT LIGHTING - PHASE I, (SECOND BIDDING) B-6201-C for the total bid of the proposal, based on lump sum and unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 3. The total estimated project cost of $15,250.00 is hereby allocated from the Fiscal Year 1991-92 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10938, Project No. 331357. Said total project cost consists of the $12,700.00, contract cost and $2,550.00 estimated expenses incurred by the City. Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contractl1 on behalf of the City of Miami with BENSON ELECTRIC, INC., for DORSEY PARK REHABILITATION - SPORT LIGHTING - PHASE I, (SECOND BIDDING) B-6201-C, total bid of the proposal. Section 5. The project consists of installing one (1) new high voltage transformer and electrical distribution equipment at the Dorsey Park, 1701 N.W. 1st Avenue, Miami, Florida. Bidders will furnish performance and bid bonds in accordance with Resolutions No. 86-983 and No. 87-915.
