HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-93-0426RESOLUTION NO. 9 426 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FUNDING OF THE ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM, AND ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000, FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, SUBJECT TO SAID EXPENDITURES BEING CERTIFIED BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE AS COMPLYING WITH FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 932.7055. WHEREAS, Florida State Statute 932.7055, as amended, authorizes the expenditure of forfeiture proceeds for law enforcement purposes not considered normal operating expenses; and WHEREAS, the Alternatives Program, funded by the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, provides a valuable service to the community; and WHEREAS, in order to continue its services for the current fiscal year, the Alternatives Program requires additional funding in the amount of $25,000; and WHEREAS, the $25,000 to be contributed by the City of Miami for the Alternatives Program have not been included in the Police Department's normal operating budget; and WHEREAS, funds to cover said funding are available in the City of Miami Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 690001, Index Code 029002-247; and ry CM CObWSSION MEETING OF J U t. - 8 1993 Resolution No. 9 9 WHEREAS, any equipment/servioes purchases will still be required to follow established procurement procedures; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The funding of the Alternatives Program is hereby authorized, with funds therefor, in an amount not to exceed $25,000, being hereby allocated from the City of Miami Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 690001, Index Code 029002- 247, subject to said expenditures being certified by the Chief of Police as complying with Florida State Statute 932.7055. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8thday of cTu 1993. L� WAVIER L.
