Home My WebLink AboutR-93-0405J-93-527 7/8/93 93- 405 RESOLUTION NO. 1 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF AIR CONDITIONING UNITS AT THE MANUEL ARTIME COMMUNITY CENTER, LOCATED AT 970 SOUTHWEST 1ST STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE, ACCEPT, AND EVALUATE BIDS TO PROVIDE SUCH EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION AT SAID BUILDING; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD THE BID TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR SAID EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY AGREEMENT(S), IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND TO DIRECT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE THE NECESSARY PURCHASE ORDER(S) FOR SAID EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City of Miami has entered into agreements with several organizations for their use of space in the Manuel Artime Community Center, located at 970 Southwest 1st Street, Miami, Florida; and WHEREAS, pursuant to these existing agreements, the City of Miami is responsible for furnishing and maintaining the air conditioning units in a satisfactory operating condition at all times; and WHEREAS, the existing air conditioning units are in deteriorated condition and are no longer functioning in a satisfactory manner; and C177 COMMMSSION MEETING OF, J11L081993 Revolution No. 93- 405 WHEREAS, it would not be cost effective to repair the existing air conditioning units; and WHEREAS, funds to cover the cost of replacing said air conditioning units are available from the Community Development Block Grant Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The furnishing and installation of air conditioning units at the Manuel Artime Community Center, located at 970 Southwest 1st Street, Miami, Florida, is hereby authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to advertise, accept, and evaluate bids to provide said equipment and installation for said facility. Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorizedj-' to award the bid to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, execute the necessary agreement(s), in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, and direct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue the necessary purchase order(s), for said equipment and The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. 93- 405 -2- installation, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Community Development Block Grant Program. Federal Labor Standards Provisions (Form HUD-4010), including payment of Davis -Bacon wages, apply to this job. Contractor shall comply with all requirements and regulations provided therein. A copy of the current wage decision and other information is attached. Bids submitted past such deadline and/or submitted to any other location or office shall be deemed not responsive and will be rejected. Ordinance No. 10062, as amended, established a goal of Awarding 51% of the City's total dollar volume of all expenditures for All Goods and Services to Black, Hispanic and Women Minority Business Enterprises on an equal basis.
