A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO.
92-440, ADOPTED JULY 9, 1992, IN ITS
ENTIRETY, WHICH ACCEPTED THE BID OF
B. SHEHADI 9 SONS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF
FLOOR COVERING AT THE MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT
E-911 CENTER, IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF
$19,250.00, AS SAID BIDDER IS UNABLE TO MEET
BID SPECIFICATIONS; FURTHER, AUTHORIZING THE
AWARD OF SAID BID TO ACOUSTI ENGINEERING
COMPANY, THE SECOND LOWEST RESPONSIBLE AND
RESPONSIVE BIDDER, IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF
$24,911.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM
THE E-911 SPECIAL REVENUE FUND, PROJECT NO.
506001, ACCOUNT NO, 420604-270; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF
PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER
FOR THIS SERVICE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received March 18, 1992 for the replacement of floor covering at
the Miami Police Department E-911 Center and an award was made
July 9, 1992, pursuant to Resolution No. 92-440, to B. Shehadi &
Sons for said service; and
WHEREAS, funds for said equipment are available from the
E-911 Special Revenue Fund, Project No. 506001, Account No.
420604-270; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend
that the award to B. Shehadi & Sons be rescinded due to this
bidders' inability to meet the bid specifications and the award

be mare to Acousti_ Engineering Company, the second lowest:
responsible and responsive bidder, in a. total proposed amount of
$24,911.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. Resolution No. 92-440, adopted July 9, 1992,
which accepted the bid of B. Shehadi & Sons for the replacement
of floor covering at the Miami Police Department E-911 Center, in
the proposed amount of $19,250, is hereby rescinded in its
entirety as said bidder is unable to meet bid specifications.
Section 3. Said bid is hereby awarded to Acousti
Engineering Company, the second lowest responsible and responsive
bidder, in the proposed amount of $24,911.00, with funds therefor
hereby allocated from the E-911 Special Revenue Fund, Project No.
506001, Account No. 420604-270.
Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order
for said service.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
