RESOLUTION NO.
3
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT
OF $280,1.07 FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND REHABILITATIVE
SERVICES TO FUND PROGRAM; FOR THE
DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY
DOCUMENT(S), IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, as it has for the last 15 years, the Parrs and
Recreation Department, through its Programs for Persons with
Disabilities, has again applied to the State of Florida,
Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services (hereinafter
referred to as HRS) for grant funds to support its programs for
the coming year; and
WHEREAS, the HRS has offered the City a, grant totalling
$280,107 for services to be provided to developmentally disabled
individuals during the period July 1, 1993 through June 30, 1994;

WHEREAS, the HRS grant is divided into the following
component programs: $92,492 for developmental training (17
clients) , $ 21. , f 00 for supported employment (4 clients) , $144 , 415
for recreation programs (84 clients), and $21,600 for
transportation services for the above; and

WITEREAS , said grant requires a 12 w 5% local nato , or
$35 , 013 , which amount is available from the existing General Fund.
Operating Budget of said Division; and
WHEREAS, the HRS has requested all grantees to accept such
grants and to exeoute the necessary contracts no latex than
June 15, 1993 ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY

OF MIAMI , FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.

Section 2. A grant in the amount of $280,107 is hereby
accepted from the State of Florida, Department of Health and
Rehabilitative Services to support programs for the
developmentally disabled during the period July 1, 1993 through
June 30, 1994 to be provided by the Parks and Recreation
Department, through its Programs for Persons with Disabilities.
Seotion 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized' to
execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City.
Attorney, for said purpose.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption..

The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with
all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorne
including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable
City Charter and Coda provisions.
