Dear Camdasianer Alonso,
Planning for this year's Marjory Stoneman Douglas Invitational Art ZdWAticm
is well underway and we hope you can join us for the opening reception an
April 2, 1993. We will also be celebrating Ms. Douglas' 103rd birthday.
The exhibitan will be open free to the public from April 3 through May 27,,
1993, and will prawte public awareness of our unique natural resources.
Proceeds from this exhibition will benefit Everglades National Park for
restoration of hurricane damage.
This is the third annual event that the Center for Visual Camanication, a
501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, has produced. Art for the show will
feature works by students and teachers throughout Dade County.
This year's exhibition poster will highlight a picture of the Everglades by
nationally acclaimed photographer, Clyde Butcher.
Sponsors for this year's event include AT&T, Bacardi, FFL, RM Channel 7 and
WDZL, however, due to the hurricane, we have lost financial support w* had
counted on from past sponsors.

103nd birthday, The Center for Visual Cammnication presents the Third Annual
Marjory Stonetarn Douglas imdtatianal Art Exhibition. Event uvurwriters
include AT&T, Bacardi, Blockbuster, FPL, WSM Channel 7 and WML Cmunoc of 39.
i A receotion and birth ft- y celebration for Ms. Douglas will be held on April 2,
1993 from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. at 4021 Laguna Street, Coral gables. 'Tickets to
the reception are $ 35.00 individual, $ 40.00 for couples; and include
_ catmsnorative poster, birthday cake, drinks and hors doeuvres. Please contact
Susanne Swentsel at 854-1000 regarding invitations.
The exhibition will highlight artwork by Dade County Schools students and
Teachers. Paintings, drawings, and photographs that capture the essence and
spirit of Florida's landscape will be featured.
The works will be an display fran April 3 through May 27, 1993, at Ifto Center
for Visual Cam :nicatian, 4021 Laguna Street, Coral Gables and at the Theatre
of Perfonning Arts, 1700 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach. Admdssion is free.

the Everglades by noted photographer Clyde Butcher, will be available for'
purchase. Proceeds from art sales will be donated to Everglades National Park
for the restoration of ireas damaged by Hurricane Andrew.
Exhibition hours are 10:00 am to 5:30 pm Tuesday - Saturday
at 4021 Laguna Street, Coral Gables, FL and
1700 Washington Avenue, Miu d Beach, FL
The Center for Visual Communication is a non-profit 501-c-3 organisation which
presents innovative programs, and provides visual arts resources for artists
} and the educational comma city. The Center for Visual Communication's
Heighboibood Help Centers, funded in part by Metro -Dade County, are helping
South Dade recover and rebuild fram Hurricane Andrew.
