HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-93-0289J-93-402 6/13/93 RESOLUTION so. 9 3` 289 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF THE LAW FIRMS OF FINE, JACOBSON, SCHWARTZ, NASH & BLOCK AND THE MINORITY FIRM OF MANUEL ALONSO-POCH TO PROVIDE BOND COUNSEL SERVICES FOR THE REFUNDING OF THE CITY'S OUTSTANDING INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1988, IN THE APPROXIMATE AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF $18,780,000, WITH FUNDS FOR SAID SERVICES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $17.500, PLUS EXPENSES OF $5,000, BEING ALLOCATED FROM THE PROCEEDS OF SUCH REFUNDING. WHEREAS, The City of Miami has determined that it would be in its best interests to refinanoe its outstanding Industrial Development Revenue Bonds, Series 1985, in the approximate aggregate prinoipal amount of $16,750,000; and WHEREAS, the City Commission authorized the City Attorney, pursuant to Motion No. 93-258, adopted April 15, 1993, to solioit bids from qualified law firms for the provision of bond oounsel servioes for suoh refinancing; and WHEREAS. the law firms of Fine, Jaoobson, Schwartz, Nash & Blook and Manuel Alonso-Pooh submitted a low bid of $17,500 plus a maximum of $5,000 in expenses; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: c'11't CO�S8I0� STING OF MAY 13 1993 93- 289 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resol;ution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and inoorporo,,ted herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The appointment of the law firm of Fine, Jacobson, Schwartz, Nash V Blook and the minority firm of Manuel Alonso-Pooh to provide bond counsel servioes in oonneotion with the refunding of the City's outstanding Industrial Development Revenue Bonds, Series 1985, in the approximate aggregate principal amount of $16,780,000, is hereby approved, with funds - for said services, in an amount not to exoeed $17,600 plus expenses of $5,000, being hereby allocated from the proceeds of such refunding. Section 3. This Resolution shall beoome effective - immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of 19
