Home My WebLink AboutR-93-0260_ A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER'S DECISION TO REJECT THE PROTEST RECEIVED FROM INTERAMERICAN CAR RENTAL IN _ CONNECTION WITH BID NOS. 92-93-027 AND 92-93- 039R FOR THE FURNISHING OF CAR LEASE/RENTAL SERVICES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AS IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO BE WITHOUT MERIT. WHEREAS, in connection with Bid Nos. 92-93-027 and 92-93- ? 039R for the furnishing of Car Lease/Rental Services for the Police Department, a protest filed by Interamerican Car Rental ,t was received on April 8, 1993 by the Chief Procurement Officer in her role as the arbiter of protests pursuant to Section 18-56.1 of the City Code; and WHEREAS, said bids pursuant to Section 18-52.7 of the City Code, were rejected by the City Commission on January 14, 1993 and March 11, 1993 respectively; and WHEREAS, a new bid was issued with revised insurance = requirements, and was scheduled to be opened on April 13, 1993 at 11:30 A.M.; and WHEREAS, all soliciting vendors have been duly notified of = the rejections and issuance of the new bid; and WHEREAS, the protest is found to be without merit and therefore rejected by the Chief Procurement Officer and approved by the City Manager and the City Attorney; C'1'rF COS MEETING OE APR 15 W boom**"* 93- 2�. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Chief Procurement Officer's decision to reject the protest in connection with Bid Nos. 92-93-027 and 92 93--039R for the furnishing of Car Lease/Rental Services for the r Police Department, filed by Interamerican Car Rental, is hereby approved. A protest was received from Interamerican Car Rental and it was - determined by the Chief Procurement Officer in her role as the arbiter of bid protests, pursuant to Section 18-56.1 of the City Code, that this protest should be denied. The City Commission, pursuant to its authority under Section 18- 52.7 of the City Code, rejected Bid No. 92-93-027 on January 14, 1993 and Bid No. 92-93-039R on March 11, 1993 for procurement.of this commodity. A new bid was issued and scheduled to be opened on April 13, 1993 at 11:30 A.M. All affected bidders have been notified of the City's decision to reject all bids and the issuance of a new bid. Further, the protesting party received copies of the aforementioned bid invitations and has had the same- time, as other prospective bidders, to respond to the solicitations. The Chief Procurement Officer investigated the matter and determined that the protest lacked merit, as detailed in the - attached letter.
