HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-93-0221J-93-210 RESOLUTION NO.930" 221 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF EXPRESS CONCRETE, INC., IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $35,972.00, TOTAL BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR CITYWIDE SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT (FEMA) H-1032; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,972 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST PLUS ANY ACTUAL FEMA REIMBURSEABLE DESIGN AND ENGINEERING EXPENSES, AND FROM THE FISCAL YEAR 1991-92 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. 10938, PROJECT NO. 341178 IN THE AMOUNT OF $15X000; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH SAID FIRM, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received on March 26, 1993, for CITYWIDE SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT (FEMA) H-1032; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid from Express Concrete, Inc., be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has identified a portion of the sidewalk within the City as hurricane damaged; and WHEREAS, monies for the replacement of that hurricane damaged sidewalk shall be reimbursed to the City by FEMA; and WHEREAS, additional non -hurricane damaged sidewalk has been identified as requiring replacement; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1991-92 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10938, as amended was adopted on December 5, 1991, ?tr and monies are available for the proposed non -hurricane related �F1 portion of the contract under Project No. id 11't commuIQn Ordinance, lift7wo OF R } � 9=' n n NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The March 26, 1993 bid of Express Concrete, Inc., in the proposed amount of $35,972, for the project entitled CITYWIDE SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT (FEMA) H-1032 for the total bid of the proposal, based on lump sum and unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 3. The amount of $20,972 to cover contract costs plus any FEMA actual design and engineering expenses will be reimbursed to the City by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The construction cost of $15,000 is hereby allocated from the Fiscal Year 1991-92 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10938, Project No. 341178. Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contracty on behalf of the City of Miami with Express Concrete, Inc., for CITYWIDE SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT (FEMA) H-10 32, total bid of the proposal. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
