TO COMMENCE CONSTRUCTION ON A MIXED - USE COOPERATIVE HOUSING PROJECT, LOCATED AT 102B WEST FLAGLER STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, SITUATED IN THE LITTLE HAVANA NEIGHBORHOOD, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 91-123, ADOPTED FEBRUARY 14, 1991. WHEREAS, on February 14, 1991, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 91--123, which authorized the City Manager to make available and disburse $286,640 from the 16th Year Community Development Block Grant Program to assist Florida Housing Cooperative, Inc. with the acquisition of a parcel of vacant land located at 1028 West Flagler Street, Miami, Florida; and WHEREAS, the subject parcels were acquired in connection with Florida Housing Cooperative, Ine.'s proposal to develop a mixed -use cooperative housing project in the Little Havana neighborhood; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 91-123, the City Commission instructed the City Manager to incorporate provisions in the Agreement between the City and Florida Housing Cooperative, Inc. and the deed which would ensure that title to the said parcels would revert to the City if construction on the proposed mixed -use cooperative housing project is not underway within twenty four (24) months from the date funds are disbursed by the City pursuant to the aforementioned resolution; and CITY CQdkMSSXOX MEETING OF MAR t 1 M3 Resclution Na 9_�: WHEREAS, the deadline for Florida Housing Cooperative, Inc. to commence construction for the said housing project is on or before April 19, 1993; and WHEREAS, the City Commission authorizes a twelve (12) month extension to Florida Housing Cooperative, Inc. in connection "Tith the construction commencement date for the development of a cooperative housing project planned at 1025 West Flagler Street, Miami, Florida; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Commission hereby grants a twelve (12) month extension to Florida Housing Cooperative, Inc., to commence construction on a mixed -use cooperative housing project, located at 1023 West Flagler Street, Miami, Florida, situated in the Little Havana Neighborhood, pursuant to Resolution No. 91-123, adopted February 14, 1991. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 11th day of arnh 1993. Pursuant to that contract construction on the lot was to commence by April 10, 1993, or the land would revert. back to the City of Miami. Duce to a current moratorium on building in areas of Dade County commencing aonat:<uctLan Is Impossible. so we are asking for an extension of the time of commencement so that title to the land will not _prVert back to the City of Miami.
