(} 1i The Northeast Task Force was established in 1989 by the action of t i'lf City Commission. Since that time the Task Force has been v ty t �ar� in addressing the concerns of the area it represents in lie t� Hiami. �j t ps i• During the past year it was determined by the active member"i' 3 he Task Force that the membership of the group needed to be dated.. Numbers of active members had been dwindling due to membe4l moving away or otherwise no longer participating. At the same time additional organizations and concerned citizens had expressed interest in serving upon the Northeast Task Force. Therefore, the Northeast Task Force appointed an Ad Hoc Committee to study and recommend a way to reconstitute the Task Force. Recently, the Northeast Task Force voted unanimously to accept the recommendations of the committee report regarding filling vacancies on the Task Force. Neighborhood civic organizations and business interests within the boundaries as well as the Morningside Elementary School PTA were invited to nominate their representatives. Original Task Force members were given the opportunity to remain on the Task Force if they so desired. Attached is a list of names which includes both those original Task Forcee members who would be reappointed and the names of new appointees for a total of thirty—one (31) appointments. The appointees recommended represent a broad cross- section of the area, and represent both residential and business interests. In addition, the Task Force would welcome additional representation from the area west of Biscayne Boulevard and east of the FEC railroad. As new property owners and/or residents associations are formed in this area they may wish to participate, then additional recommendations for the Northeast Task Force will be brought to you. Please place this item on an upcoming City Commission meeting agenda so that appropriate action may be taken. our cooperation and support are always appreciated. Sincerely, .
