IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, BETWEEN WYNWOOD COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, INC. ("WCEDC") AND THE CITY OF MIAMI, TO COVER COSTS OF DESIGN AND THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT PHASE RELATED TO THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF TEN (10) TOWNHOUSE APARTMENT UNITS TO BE LOCATED IN THE W"YNWOOD TARGET AREA; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000, FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS. WHEREAS, the promotion of eoonomio and housing revitalization in the neighborhoods of the City of Miami is an important part of the City's eoonomio development strategy; and WHEREAS, the City Commission and the Department of Housing Conservation have agreed, in principle, to oonvey two (2) paroels of land to the WCEDC in Connection with the development of affordable housing in the City; and WHEREAS, WCEDC has proposed to utilize said land to build ten (10) townhouse apartment units in the Wynwood target area; and WHEREAS, said townhouses will be looated at 229 N.W. 30th Street and 3511 N.W. 1st Avenue, Miami, Florida; and CITY CONWSSIOM MEETING OF MAR 1 1 M3 Beft a w 3% 93- 142 wed �tarsas s*aai�lta� Si�s� GS&Z601id Waste -procurement DivisionUsti ®: .....__.._.._�..._...�..__,... ... I'wwwA�.�. -- rr�..•s;;re�.�sr. .►OM��..►.YI.�.I��.M��M ���M`+�' 0 SIGN21 WHEREAS, the $28,000 available for said projeot Will be used to pay for architeo-tural services, which inolude design and construction documents; and WHEREAS, funding for said projeots is available from Community Development Block Grant Program funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The reoitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by referenoe thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorizedl' to exeoute an amendment, in a form aooeptable to the City Attorney, to the existing agreement initially approved by Resolution No. 92-190.1, adopted March 12, 1992, between WCEDC and the City of Miami, to cover costs of design and the construction document phase related to the proposed development of ten (10) townhouse apartment units to be located in the Wynwood target area, with funding therefor hereby allocated, in the amount of $25,000, from Community Development Block Grant Program funds. Seotion 3. This Resolution shall become effeotive immediately upon its adoption. Wynwood Community Economic Development Corporation, Inc ENCLOSURES: City Commission Agenda Item - March 11, 1993 RECOMMENDATION: it is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt, the — attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an amendment to the existing Agreement dated November 25, 1992, between Wynwood Community Economic Development Corporation and the City of Miami for the purpose of providing $25,000 in CDBG funding to cover the costs associated with predevelopment activities for the development of a 10 unit affordable housing project on two (2) parcels of city -owned land in the Wynwood neighborhood. The Department of Development and Housing Conservation recommends ratification of the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an amendment to the existing Agreement between Wynwood Community Economic Development Corporation and the City of Miami dated November 25, 1992, in connection with the development of a 10 unit affordable housing project on two (2) parcels of city -owned land in the Wynwood neighborhood. Recently, the Wynwood Community Economic Development Corporation retained the services of an architectural firm and is ready to proceed with the design and construction document phase of the project. A total of $25,000 in 16th Year Community Development Block Grant Program funding is available to defray the costs of the design and construction document phases.
