A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE NON-EXCLUSIVE
USE OF THE CURTIS PARK SPORTS STADIUM AND ITS
FACILITIES BY INTERNATIONAL SOCCER LEAGUE OF
MIAMI, INC. ON AN ONGOING BASIS FOR A
ONE-YEAR PERIOD FOR THE PURPOSES OF
CONDUCTING A COMMUNITY -BASED SOCCER PROGRAM;
ESTABLISHING SPECIAL CHARGES, TERMS AND
CONDITIONS FOR SAID USE; AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A PARK PERMIT, IN A
FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO SAID
ORGANIZATION FOR THIS PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, International Soccer League of Miami, Inc. has
approached the Parks and Recreation Department with a request to
conduct a community -based soccer program at Curtis Park in the
new Stadium; and
WHEREAS, said program will consist of an adult soccer league
using the stadium primarily on weekends for games and at other
times for practices, and a once -a -week, eight (8) hour youth
socoer program for a minimum of 100 youths; and
WHEREAS, the times of such use would be controlled by the
Parks and Recreation Department to ensure the Stadium's
availability to other programs and groups such as Dade County
Schools' football programs; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that special charges,
terms and conditions for the use of said Stadium would be

appropriate for said program and has reached a tentative
agreement with said organization as to those terms, and
WHEREAS, said organization would be required to pay use fees
as follows: $250 per day for the stadium, $100 per day for the
concession stand, $50 per day for the press box, and all _
applicable suroharges whenever admission is charged to the
public; and
WHEREAS, additionally, said organization would be required

to pay all costs for City staff including parks personnel,
technicians and off -duty police, to mark the field and clean all
facilities after each use at its own cost, to reimburse the City
for electrical consumption plus a 20% maintenance surcharge, and
to provide adequate liability insurance coverage to the City's _
=- satisfaction; and
WHEREAS, the use arrangement described herein is recommended
by the Administration for its benefit to the community and its
return to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section. -
Section 2. The non-exolusive use of the Curtis Park
Sports Stadium and its facilities by International S000er League
of Miami, Inc. for a community -based soccer program is hereby
authorized on an ongoing basis for a period of one year.

Section 3. The special charges, terms and conditions
provided herein are hereby established for said use of said
facility by International Sooner League of Miami, Inc.
Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
issue a park permit`/, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney,
to International Sooner League of Miami. Inc. for this purpose.
Section Z. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

The herein authorization is further subject to compliance
with all requirements that may be imposed by the City
Attorney, including those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
