Odio sent of (1) individual FROM: City Manager REFERENCES: to the Affirmative Action Advisory Board ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the appointment and reappointment of individuals to serve on the Affirmative Action Advisory Board. BACKGROUND The Department of internal Audits and Reviews respectfully requests the appointment and reappointment of individuals to the Affirmative Action Advisory Board. Females and Hispanics are underrepresented on the Board, comprising 31% Females and 39% Hispanics, compared to 46% and 59%, respectively, of the City of Miami general population. The Board requests the confirmation of Mr. Omar Castro to the Affirmative Action Advisory Board. Mr. Castro's term as the AFSCME, Local 1907 union representative on the Board expired on January 10, 1993; it is the desire of the union that he continue to serve in this capacity. The terms of Danny Couch, Nora Hendrix, and Laurastine Pierce expired on January 10, 1993. Mr. Couch, Ms. Hendrix, and Ms. Pierce all wish to be reappointed by Mayor Suarez, Commissioner Dawkins, and Vice Mayor De Yurre, respectively. Also, Alicia.
