A RESOLUTION APIPOINTING AN INDIVIDUAL TO
SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI OFFICE
or PROFESSIONAL COMPLIANCE ADVISORY PANEL FOR
A TERM OF OFFICE AS DESIGNATED HEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individual is hereby appointed
to serve as a member of the City of Miami Office of Professional
Compliance Advisory Panel for the remainder of an unexpired term
ending December 6, 1993:

It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution appointing an individual to fill a vacancy on
the Office of Professional Compliance Advisory Panel.
BACKGROUND: The Office of Professional Compliance requests the appointment of =
one individual to the Advisory Panel to complete a term expiring
December 6, 1993.
One (1) vacancy will, be created by the removal of Ms. Jackie Bell
for excessive absences. Section 2F(2) of Ordinance #10659
provides for the automatic removal of members from the Panel
after three consecutive absences. Ms. Bell missed four
consecutive meetings on August 11, 1992, October 13, 1992,
November 10, 1992, and December 10, 1992. She has missed a total
of five meetings. Her name is hereby certified for removal by
the City Commission who shall fill the vacancy by appointment.
In accordance with administrative policy, I am

and adopted by the City of Miami Commission at its meeting held
on February 9, 1993, appointing you to serve as a member of the
City of Miami Office of Professional Compliance Advisory Panel.

Pursuant to Dade County Ordinance No. 77-13, and the Financial

Disclosure law, Chapter 112.3145, Florida Statutes, as a member
of the OPC Advisory Panel, you will be required to file a -

Statement of Financial Interests form with the Dade County
Supervisor, Elections Department. Their address is: Metro Dade —_
Center, 111 N.W. 1st Street, Suite 1910, Miami, Florida 33128-
1993 (Tel: 375-5553).

Pursuant to the requirement under Section 42-62, City of Miami
Code, members of the OPC Advisory Panel are required to take an —_

oath of office. Please contact Sylvia Lowman at 250-5360 to make
an appointment to take said oath.
Also enclosed is a copy of a memorandum from A. Quinn Jones, III,
City Attorney, dated October 22, 1991, outlining some guidelines

to assist members of City Boards and Committees in complying with

the Government in the Sunshine Law.
Also enclosed, for informational purposes, is another memorandum
from the City Attorney, dated October 22, 1991 on legal =

requirements concerning Conflict of Interest and Dual Office
Holding circumstances which may prohibit your membership in said
bodies.
