Home My WebLink AboutR-93-0047q# # J-93-138 1 / 1.4/93 RESOLUTION NO. 9 3 - 47 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF MIAMI FIRE EQUIPMENT FOR THE FURNISHING OF INSPECTION, TESTING AND REPAIR SERVICES TO THE CITY FIFE EXTINGUISHERS ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR, AT THE PRICES • STIPULATED IN BID NO. 92--93-018; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM VARIOU'S CITY DEPARTMENTS FY '92-93 OPERATING BUDGETS AS NEEDED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS SERVICE AS NEEDED; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO ENSURE THAT AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT YEAR APPROPRIATE CITY STAFF HAS BEEN TRAINED AND IS QUALIFIED TO PROVIDE THESE SERVICES. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bads were received November 18, 1992 for the furnishing of inspection, testing and repair services to the City fire extinguishers on an as needed basis for a period of one (1) year with the option to extend for three (3) additional. one (1) year periods; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty-eight (28) bidders and three (3) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this service are available from FY '92-93 Operating Budgets of the various City Departments as needed; and WHEREAS, this service will be used to maintain proper working condition of the City fire extinguishers; and CITY CON38MCM METING CC, JAN 14 Resolution No. 93- 47 WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Assistant City Manager in charge of the General Services Administration and Solid Waste Department recommend that the bid received from Miami Fire Equipment be accepted as the lowest most responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The November 18, 1992 bid of Miami Fire Equipment for the furnishing of inspection, testing and repair services to the City fire extinguishers on an as needed basis for a period of one (1) year at prices stipulated in Bid. No. 92-93--018 is hereby aooepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from various City Departments' 1992-93 Operating Budgets as needed. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorizedl' to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order for this service. Section 4. Fire Equipment a non -minority, vendor located at 150 SW 27th Avenue Miami, Florida, as the lowest most responsible and responsive bidder to provide inspection, testing and repair service to the City fire extinguishers, in accordance with Bid No. 92-93-018. Services shall be provided to various City departments on a contract basis for one (1) year, with the option to exend for three (3) additional one (1) year periods, on an as needed basis subject to the availability of funds. The General Services Administration and Solid Waste Department has analyzed bids received pursuant to Bid No. 92-93-018 for the furnishing of inspection, testing, and repair service to the City fire extinguishers. Three (3) responsive bids were received; one (1) Non -Minority,, one (1) Black, and one (1) Hispanic. As a result of the bid evaluation, it is recommended that the award be granted to Miami Fire Equipment, a Non -Minority, local vendor, as the lowest most responsible and responsive bidder in accordance with Bid No. 92-39-018. Funds for this service are available from the FYI 92-93 Operating Budgets of various City departments.
