WHEREAS, two vacancies exist on the City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officer's Retirement Trust; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individuals are hereby reappointed as members to the City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officer's Retirement Trust, for terms to expire on September 30, 1994: AL GURDAR CHARLIE €ALL Section 2. Background: City of Miami Code sections 40-201 and 40-202, (ordinance #10002) provide for the appointment of a nine member board of trustees to J; administer and manage the retirement plan known as the "City of Miami Fire Fighter's' and Police Officers' Retirement Trust." Of these nine) r= f members, one is to be selected by the City Manager, two by the Fire — Fighters' (IAFF bargaining unit) and two by than Police Officers' (roP bargaining unit). Four independent trustees are to be selected by the City Commission. t Of the present appointment*, two are expiring% - (1) The appointment of Al Gurdak was made by the City Commission from a list of independent board member candidates submitted by the Fraternal Order of Police. it is the FOP' s recommendation that Al Gurdak be reappointed for a term of office which would begin on October 1, 1992, and would expire on September 30, 1994.
