ORDINANCE NO.
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14-26
(c)(1) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, BY PROVIDING THAT
MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE
DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (DDA) SHALL BE
APPOINTED BY THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE DDA AND
SHALL SERVE A TERM CONCOMITANT WITH THE TERM
OF SAID APPOINTING CHAIRPERSON; CONTAINING A
REPEALER PROVISION, SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 14-26 (c)(1) of the Code of the City
of Miami, Florida, as amended, is hereby amended as follows:l/
"Chapter 14
DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT
SEC. 14-26. Downtown development authority board -
Composition; appointment and terms of
office of members and Executive Board;
filling of vacancies.
(c) The board shall be constituted as follows:
1/ Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted.
Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The
remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged.
Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material.

(1) A member of the city commission shall be
chairperson of the board and the twenty-ninth
member.. , and shall appoint the members of
the Downtown Development Authority's
Executive Board at the first meeting of said
Board following the beginning of the
Chairperson's term of office. Said Executive
Board members shall serve for a term
_concomitant with that of the appointing
Chairperson.

Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar
as they are inconsistent with the provision of this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any section, part of this section,
paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is declared
invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be
affected.
Section 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure on the grounds of urgent public need for the
preservation of peace, health, safety, and property of the City
of Miami, and upon the further grounds of the necessity to
implement the subject procedural changes in a timely manner
consistent with the annual transfer of City Commission Committee
Chair assignments.
Section 5. The requirement of reading this Ordinance on
two separate days is hereby dispensed with by an affirmative vote
of not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
