Qdio City Manager DATE MAR w /'9 19^0 FILE SUWECT : ResoluifGionyv ccepting Bid 92-93-006 for Vehicle Lease for the Department of Community Development REFERENCES: Commission Agenda Item ENCLOSURES- March 11, 1993 it is respectfully recommended that the City Commission pass the attached resolution accepting Bid Number 92-93-006 with Royal Rent-A- Car, a Hispanic, local vendor, located at 1199 N.W. 42 Avenue, Miami, Florida, for the furnishing of automobile rental services on a contract basis for a period of one (1) year as needed. The quantity will vary depending on which program will be using this service. Approximately twenty-five (25) cars per year will be needed at a cost of $531.00 per month/per car. Funds are to be allocated at time of need from the program needing this service. These cars are needed for the implementation of the City's Summer Youth Employment and Training Program, "Emergency" Jobs Program, Hurricane Andrew Recovery Training and Employment Program and the Eastern/Pan Am Retraining Program. The Department of Community Development has been awarded federal funds to operate Job Training Programs through the South Florida _ Employment and Training Consortium (SFETC). — Fifteen (15) vehicles will be utilized for the Summer Youth Employment and Training Program, five (5) vehicles for the "Emergency" Jobs Program, one (1) vehicle for the Hurricane Andrew Recovery Training and Employment Program and four (4) vehicles for the Eastern/Pan Am Retraining Program. The vehicles will be used by project staff to visit work sites and provide needed support as required by the SFETC. These costs were included in the City's budget proposal to the South Florida Employment and Training Consortium and have been approved by the funding source.
