WHEREAS, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. sponsors the "Lifeguard./Law
Enforcement Jet Ski Loan Program" which loans equiprent to recognized
governmental bodies; and
WHEREAS, the Marine Patrol and Lifeguards are in need of jet ski units
to provide security, rescue swimmers, assist boaters in distress and enforce
boat safety rules along the 26 miles of linear Coastline, 19.5 miles of
Biscayne Bay, the Miami. River and the more than 20 navigable canals located
throughout the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. wishes to extend its Program to
the City of Miami;
NOW, SORE, BE IT. RESOLVED BY THE COMNIISSICEN OF THE CITY OF ML:4M2,
Section 1. The recitals and findings contadned in the Preamble to
this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated
herein as if fully set forth 3n this Section.

Section 2. Four (4) Kawasaki. Jet Ski Units are hereby aooepted
from Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. as part of "Kawasaki's Lifeguard/Law
Enforcement Loan Program", said units to be used by the Departments of Police
and Parks and Recreation to provide security and assistance along the
coastline and waterways located throughout the City of Miami.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorizedYto execute the
necessary document(s), in a form aooeptable to the City Attorney, to accept
said donation and implement said Program.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of December, 1994.

It is respectfully recommended that. Lhe City Commiscion adopt
the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to accept,
in behalf of the City of Miami, four (4) Kawasaki Jet Ski units
under the Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. Lifeguard/Law Enforcement
Loan Program.

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., located at 9950 Jeronimo Road,
IrvinA, California offers a unique one year loan program of Jet
Ski and Jet Mate units to recognized governmental bodies to be
used in patrol, rescue, or educational duties.
The City of Miami Police and Parka & Recreation Departments are
in need of four (4) Jet Ski units to be used by the Marine
Patrol (2) and the City' s Life Guards (2) in the patrol of the
City's waterfront, the rescue of swimmers, enforcement of boat
safety rules and assistance of boaters in distreae.
Yn the interest of swimmer and heater safety, given the proximity
of the Winter Tourist season and the expected influx of thousands
of visitors and boats to our shores, it is respectfully
recommended that this resolution be approved.
