IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $15,965.00, TOTAL BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR "PAN AMERICAN DRIVE MEDIAN - LANDSCAPING PROJECT B-2993-C" ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS DUE TO THE COMPLETION DEADLINE FOR THE MEDIAN IMPROVEMENTS; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM PROJECT NO. 415002, AS APPROPRIATED BY THE FISCAL YEAR 1993-94 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. 11139 IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,965.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST AND $2,758.72 TO COVER THE ESTIMATED EXPENSES, FOR AN ESTIMATED TOTAL COST OF $18,723.72. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received July 14, 1994, for "PAN AMERICAN DRIVE MEDIAN -LANDSCAPING PROJECT B-2993-C"; and WHEREAS, in preparation for the Summit of the Americas, which will commence on December 2, 1994, and due to the short time frame for completion of this project, the City Manager authorized the Issuance of an emergency purchase order so the Pan American Drive Median Improvements would be completed In advance of the Summit of the Americas; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend ratification of the City Manager's action in awarding the contract to Landscaping Associates, Inc., as the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; and CITY CObSSION MEETING OF NMI 9 7 1994 Resolution No, 94- 792 WHEREAS, monles are avallabe for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals under Project No. 415002, as appropriated by the Fiscal Year 1993-94 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 11139; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAM1, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained In the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and Incorporated herein as If fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The July 14, 1994, bid awarded to Landscaping Associates, Inc., In the proposed amount of $15,966.00, for the project entitled "PAN AMERICAN DRIVE MEDIAN - LANDSCAPING PROJECT B-2993-C" for the total bid of the proposal, based on lump sum and unit prices, Is hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. Section 3. The total estimated project cost of $18,723.72 is hereby allocated from Project No. 415002, as appropriated by the Fiscal Year 1993-94 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 11139, as amended. Said total project cost consists of the $15,965.00 contract cost and $2,758.72 estimated expenses Incurred by the City. Section 4. The landscaping and the irrigation system are the remaining improvements to be implemented. The landscaping low bidder was Landscaping Associates with a bid of $15,965.00. The irrigation system low bidder was Jaffer Associates with. a bid of $ 59981.00. Attached find copies of the bid tabulations prepared by Public works. C At this time, we are requesting an emergency approval for the award of the landscaping and the irrigation system contracts to the low bidders listed in the attached bid tabulations.
