RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO
THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH JEFFREY GLICK, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $15,500 FOR THE CREATION OF
THIRTY-NINE (39) ART PIECES TO BE PRESENTED
TO THE HEADS OF GOVERNMENT ATTENDING THE
SUMMIT OF THE AMERICAS 1994; ALLOCATING FUNDS
THEREFOR FROM THE METRO-DADE TOURIST BED TAX
FUND.
WHEREAS, President William J. Clinton has invited the 33
democratically elected leaders of the Western Hemisphere to a
Summit of the Americas to be held in Miami, Florida, from
December 9-11, 1994; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") wishes to welcome our
distinguished guests with a gift representative of the City of
Miami and appropriate in nature; and
WHEREAS, the City commissioned renderings from two artists
and selected Jeffrey Glick's proposal as the most advantageous to
the City, determined upon quality of artwork and price;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.

Seotion 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized`/ to
exeoute an agreement, in a form aoceptabl.e to the City Attorney,
with Jeffrey Gliok, in the amount of $15,500 for the oreation of
thirty-nine (39) art pieoes to be presented to the Heads of
Government attending the Summit of the Americas 1994, with funds
therefor hereby allocated from the Metro -Dade Tourist Bed Tax
Fund.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effeotive
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of October 1994.

The herein authorization is further subjeot to compliance

It is respectfully requested that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution
authorizing the City Manager to execute a Professional Service Agreement with Jeffrey
Glick in the amount of $15,500, with funds being allocated from the Metro -Dade Tourist
Bed Tax Fund. Mr. Glick shall be commissioned to create thirty-nine (39) art pieces to
be presented to the heads of government attending, the Summit of the Americas in Miami,
December 9-11, 1994.
President William Jefferson Clinton has invited 33 democratically elected leaders of the
Western Hemisphere to a Summit of the Americas in Miami, Florida, December 9-11,
1994. Protocol requires that the City welcome its distinguished guests with a gift
representative of our City and appropriate in nature.
The City commissioned renderings from two artists - Jorge Arza and Jeffrey Glick.
Through an informal negotiation process it was determined that Jeffrey Glick submitted
the most advantageous proposal based on quality of work, in addition to price.
