RESOLUTION NO. 9 4- 643
A RESOLUTION RELATED TO THE CARIBBEAN
AMERICAN FESTIVAL, CONDUCTED BY THE CARIBBEAN
AMERICAN FESTIVAL COMMITTEE, TO 'BE HELD
OCTOBER 7-9, 1994; WAIVING ALL WAIVABLE USER
FEES, AS PERMITTED BY THE CITY CODE OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED; SAID
WAIVER CONDITIONED UPON THE ORGANIZERS: (1)
PAYING REQUIRED RENTAL FEE FOR THE USE OF
COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER; (2) PAYING
FOR ALL OTHER NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY
SERVICES AND APPLICABLE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH
SAID EVENT; (3) OBTAINING INSURANCE TO
PROTECT. THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED
BY THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE; (4)
COMPLYING WITH ALL CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS
AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR
HIS DESIGNEE; AND (8) REIMBURSING THE CITY IF
ANY PROFIT IS REALIZED BY THE ORGANIZERS FROM
SAID EVENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. All waivable user fees, as permitted,by the City
Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, are hereby waived
for the Caribbean American Festival, conducted by the Caribbean
American Festival Committee, to be held October 7-9. 1994.
Section 2. The herein waiver is hereby conditioned upon the
organizers: (1) paying required
Coconut Grove Exhibition Center;
rental fee for the use of
(2) paying for all other
necessary costs of City services and applicable fees associated
with said event; (3) obtaining insurance to protect the City in

the.amount as prescribed by the City Manager or his designee; (4) -�
complying with all conditions and limitations as may be
prescribed by the City Manager or his designee; and (S)
reimbursing the City if any profit is realized by the organizers
from said event.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

Dear Mr. Odio:
Once again we are gearing up to the 10th Anniversary
celebration of the Miami Caribbean American Carnival. This year
the celebration will take place from October 7th - 9th in
downtown Miami.
For this reason, we are requesting to be placed on the
agenda for the September 8th Commission meeting.
The Carnival Committee will bring forth and request the
following from the City of Miami Commissioners.
* Rental fee waivers related to our Carnival events
which is the usual request every year.
Please let me know if you will need further information
so that we may be able to provide it to you before the scheduled
meeting.
