Home My WebLink AboutR-94-0570J-94-508 6/17/94 RESOLUTION NO. 94- 570 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT THE MOST ADVANTAGEOUS METHOD TO DEVELOP CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS ON CITY -OWNED WATERFRONT LAND IS BY THE UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (UDP) PROCESS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PREPARE A DRAFT REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) FOR A UDP, AND CONFIRMING THE SETTING OF A PUBLIC HEARING FOR OCTOBER 13, 1994 AT 10:00 A.M. TO TAKE TESTIMONY REGARDING SAID RFP FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MIAMI MARINE STADIUM AND RELATED MARINE AND RECREATIONAL USES ON CITY -OWNED WATERFRONT PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3601 RICKENBACKER CAUSEWAY, MIAMI, FLORIDA. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. It is hereby determined that the most advantageous method for the development of the Miami Marine Stadium on City -owned waterfront property located at 3601 Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami, Florida, is by the Unified Development Project Process and that the City should procure from a private person the following integrated package: Planning and design, construction, leasing and management. 94- 570 -2- Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to develop a Request for Proposals for a Unified Development Project for the development of the improvements as set forth in Section 2 hereinabove. Section 4. A Public Hearing to consider a Unified Development Project Request for Proposals for the development of the Miami Marine Stadium on City -owned waterfront property located at 3601 Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami, Florida, is hereby scheduled for October 13, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. Section 5. TtACiC('iRf�ilNl�: f As instnicted by the City Commission, the Administration through the Department of Development And Housing Conservation, is proceeding with the Request for Proposals process for the development of the Miami Marine Stadium Property. The first step in the process is for the Commission to declare the Project to he a I7nilied Development Project and authorize the preparation of an RFP, through the adoption of the proposed Resolution, that includes the planning and design, construction , leasing and management of improvements. The recommended principal apses of the properly include a .Marine Stadium and Related Marine and Recreational uses The proposed Resolution further sets a Public Hearing for October 13, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. to discuss tho contents of the Request for Proposals by which time two required appraisals will be obtained and available.
