MAINTENANCE & JANITORIAL FOR THE FURNISHING OF CUSTODIAL MAINTENANCE SERVICES AT THE SOLID WASTE FACILITY, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AND SOLID WASTE, ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE (1) YEAR WITH THE OPTION TO EXTEND FOR AN ADDITIONAL I ONE (1) YEAR PERIOD AT A TOTAL PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $11,184.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE FY '93-94 OPERATING BUDGET, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 421001-340; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE, AND THEREAFTER TO EXTEND THIS CONTRACT FOR AN ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIOD AT THE SAME PRICE, TERMS, AND CONDITIONS, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 20, 1994 for the furnishing of custodial maintenance services at the Solid Waste Facility, for the Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste, on a contract basis for one (1) year with the option to extend for an additional one (1) year period; and WHEREAS, invitations for Bid No. 93-94-097 were mailed to twenty-five (25) potential bidders and eleven (11) bids were received; and CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF JU N 0 9 1994 Resolution No. 94- 373 WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available from the FY '93-94 Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste Operating Budget, Account Code No. 421001-340; and WHEREAS, this service is needed to provide daily maintenance service to the Solid Waste Facility; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Assistant City Manager in charge of the Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste recommend that the bid received from Best's Maintenance and Janitorial be accepted as the lowest most responsive and responsible bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The April 20, 1994 bid of Best's Maintenance and Janitorial for the furnishing of custodial maintenance service to the Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste on a contract basis for one (1) year with the option to extend for an additional one (1) year period at a total proposed annual amount of $11,184.00 is hereby accepted, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the FY '93-94 Operating Budget, Account Code No. 421001-340. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procure Officer to issue a purchase order for this service, and thereafter to extend this contract for an 94` 373 -2- additional one (1) year period at the same price, terms, and conditions, subject to the availability of funds. The cost associated with this service is estimated to be $11,184.00 per year, which funds are available from the General Services Administration and Solid Waste Department, Solid Waste Division Account #421001-340. The General Services Administration and Solid Waste Department has analyzed bids received pursuant to bid #93-94-097 for the furnishing of custodial maintenance services to the Solid Waste Facility. This service is essential in order to maintain a clean and healthy work environment. As a result of the bid process, it is recommended that the award be granted to Best's Maintenance and Janitorial, a local, Hispanic vendor as the lowest mostO responsive and responsible bidder in accordance with bid #93-94-097.
