FROM : O REFERENCES C e s aOger City ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: ' It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission pass the attached resolution awarding the bid and authorizing the furnishing of janitorial services at the Miami Police Department to Vista Building Maintenance Service, Inc., a Hispanic vendor located at 8200 Coral Way Miami, Florida, as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in accordance with Bid No. 93- 94-012. The total cost of this project is estimated to be $162,931.92 ($13,577.66 monthly) for which funds are available from the Department of General Service Administration and Solid Waste/Property Maintenance Division account code 420401-670. BACKGROUND The Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste has analyzed bids received pursuant to Bid No. 93-94-012, for the janitorial services at the Miami Police Department which shall include but not be exclusive of cleaning on a daily basis all restrooms, offices, general access areas, mopping of non - carpeted areas, cleaning of walls, and emptying of all trash receptacles. Additionally vendor will resupply all restrooms with. necessary paper items, replenish soap dispensers, and install clean trash bags in all of the trash receptacles on a daily basis. It was determined that Vista Building Maintenance -- Service, Inc., was the lowest bidder meeting all City requirements and is therefore recommended for award at a total cost of $162, 931.92. Bids submitted past such deadline and/or submitted to any other location or office shall be deemed not responsive and will be rejected: Ordinance No. 10062, as amended, established a goal of Awarding 51% of the City's total dollar volume of all expenditures for All Goods and Services to Black, Hispanic and Women Minority Business Enterprises on an equal basis. Minority and women vendors who are interested in submitting bids and who. are not registered with the City as minority or women vendors are advised to contact the City Procurement Office, 1390 N.W. 20th Street, Second Floor, Telephone 575-5174. Ordinance #10032 established a "First Source Hiring Agreement program to stimulate the creation of employment for City of Miami residents.
